Terre des Homme Romania

Developing a private sector fundraising strategy in Romania, to help raise funds for children and young people across the country.

About the Terre des Homme Romania

Terre des Hommes (Tdh) is the leading Swiss organisation for children’s aid. In Romania, Tdh has been active since 1992.

Every year thousands of children in Romania and their families benefit from projects under three main intervention areas:

  • Strengthening child protection and juvenile justice systems
  • Children affected by migration
  • Social inclusion of vulnerable groups, such as Roma minorities

What we did for them

TdH Romania asked for our help to develop a fundraising plan to help them access funds from private sector sources (individuals, companies and grant funders). This include four specific areas of work:

  • Research to identify potential donors
  • Developing suitable fundraising material, including a template proposal for corporates and a major donor Case forSupport.
  • Training staff in fundraising approaches
  • Developing a strategy for the next 3-4 years which will help them achieve their ambitions.

The project was led by our UK team, with support from our Ukrainian office, and used examples of success from Romania, Ukraine and other neighbouring countries to help TdH Romania develop the plan they needed to succeed.
