Helen Maynard-Hill

Helen is an experienced fundraising and marketing professional with over twelve years’ experience working within the not for profit sector both in the UK and the Netherlands. Driven and self-motivated, she sets out to achieve the best in anything she undertakes.

Over the last twelve years Helen has worked for a number of not-for-profit organisations in the UK and the Netherlands.

During seven years working for Challenges (Un)Limited Helen helped to build the Charity Challenge brand from inception. During this time Charity Challenge helped to change the face of UK fundraising by opening up sponsored overseas expeditions to charities of all sizes and individuals alike. Through Charity Challenge Helen worked with hundreds of UK charities and senior fundraisers, helping them to raise millions of pounds for their causes.

After re-locating to the Netherlands almost four years ago, Helen continued to work in the not-for-profit sector engaging in marketing, business development and corporate liaison roles. By continuing her work in the Netherlands with not for profit organisations, Helen now has first-hand knowledge of the requirements in the Dutch market and is enthusiastic about the potential for this sector.

Helen’s focus now is to help Dutch charities to move forward and develop strategies and campaigns aimed at the modern donator, maximising return on investment and improving retention of supporters

Client Testimonials

HospitaalBroeders is an organisation specialising in fundraising for healthcare organisations and facilities for countries throughout the African Continent. We have a good foundation of supporters and over time have built a good reputation for our work. Traditionally our funding has come from regular individual donors, legacy donations and Trusts and Foundations. However we saw a decline in Foundation giving and needed to explore alternative avenues to fill the gap.

We enlisted the help of IFC and were not disappointed. We originally asked for information on other foundations and trusts outside in and outside of the Netherlands who we hadn’t contacted before. Not only did IFC produce contacts, information and guidance for approaching Trusts and Foundations throughout Europe, but for the rest of the world too. In addition to that, they also researched into areas we had only touched on previously and had not really explored such as corporate partnerships and Social Enterprise. IFC gave a full interesting, relevant and practical report giving their research, contacts, recommendations and advice on how they think we should approach the next steps towards sustainable funding.

We were very pleasantly surprised with the in depth research carried out and will take on board their insightful suggestions. We would recommend IFC to other organisations looking to review their fundraising as it certainly was an inspiration to us.

We first met Helen at the International Fundraising Consultancy’s First Friday Fundraiser where they were hosting a workshop on a subject relevant to our organisation. We asked Helen to do a workshop on the subject specifically for Oxfam Novib. Helen put together a professional and completely appropriate workshop which fitted our needs and requirements exactly. We found the workshop to be not only incredibly informative with a well thought out presentation, but also fulfilled our requirement of getting different departments to work together and listen to each other – no mean task!

We would urge any charity large or small to attend the First Friday Fundraisers Sessions which take place the first Friday of every month and would highly recommend International Fundraising Consultancy to work with you on fulfilling your charity or not for profit’s needs.

IFC hosted a day of brainstorming and training for Appsterdam. We were very impressed with the professionalism and knowledge of the IFC consultants. Information was interesting and relevant and was explained in a fun and encouraging way. IFC renewed enthusiasm to our team and everyone felt that they had not only learned a great deal but also had the knowledge and enthusiasm to begin reaching our fundraising and organization goals. We would recommend IFC to any non-profit organization.

IFC consultants are enthusiastic about every client and you really feel like they care about your cause. Experienced and empathetic, IFC consultants encourage new ideas and initiatives and try to take each charity ‘out of the box’ to lead to new and inspiring fundraising gains. The infectious enthusiasm IFC has for fundraising helps charities large and small when things are tough or the organisation as lost sight of the main goals. Encouraging, interesting, enthusiastic and highly experienced, I am happy to recommend IFC to any charity, large or small, Dutch or International.

Hope and Service to Mankind Foundation were pleased for IFC to complete a thorough audit on our organisation. We were incredibly happy with the professional and skillful way the report was carried out and bought to light some incredibly important issues we wouldn’t have otherwise been aware of. We have continued to employ IFC for further strategizing, advice on major projects and the organisation overall as believe that with their guidance HSMF will be able to reach our goals. Friendly, considerate and professional, we are very pleased to be working with IFC and would highly recommend them to any charity.

IFC Netherlands and Helen went above and beyond their remit to advise, nurture and where necessary project manage not only a launch of sponsorship packages at the CPhI world Wide event, but also to help launch the very first Community Engagement program.

As we continued to work together more and more was asked of IFC and they continued to support and give great advice and guidance without question.
We would advise any corporate organisation looking to develop their Corporate Social Responsibility policy to contact IFC as their knowledge, guidance and never faltering support helped hugely in getting this project off the ground successfully. We look forward to working with them further on the next stage of CSR development.

We found Helen and Becky to be approachable, genuinely interested in what we were trying to do and really keen to help us to develop not only our marketing and fundraising but also as a wider organization. We would highly recommend the IFC team to any not for profit organization looking to develop their marketing and or fundraising strategy
