Finbar Cullen has worked in the voluntary sector for over twenty years and has been a prospect researcher since 1999. Finbar was a senior researcher at Factary and worked for Children’s Hospice South West on their major capital appeal for over two years. He researches people, companies and grant making trusts and foundations in the UK and in overseas jurisdictions. Overseas projects have included foundations in Europe and the USA for a medical charity based in the UK.
He has a prospect research blog on Howard Lake’s UK Fundraising website, and was previously an associate editor of fResource (now THINK Resource). Each month, Finbar contributes to The Trust List, highlighting newly registered grant-making trusts worthy of particularly close attention. In October 2013, ResearchPlus published a directory of (100+) “unpublished” grant-making trusts. All received donations of at least £100,000, usually from a single donor. In June 2012, ResearchPlus published a directory of (100+) “unpublished” Scottish grant-making trusts.
Finbar is a regular speaker at Institute of Fundraising and other conferences and provides regular training in prospect research.
