Aimed at small charities, these workshops are a great opportunity for you to meet face to face with a fundraising expert and get their support with a particular issue or challenge you may be facing.
This session will cover:
- The basics of Awards for All and Reaching Communities.
- Hints, tips and guidance around these programmes.
- An insight into the expectations of the assessing officers.
- How to present the best possible case for support.
- Tips on other things to consider when applying to BIG and similar funders.
The trainer will also seek to broaden your own views and take a look at other potential routes you can take depending on your focus, as an organisation.
This session will include a Q&A on the subject so please do think about some questions beforehand.
Please note: Lottery fundraising funds charities operating in the UK, so there will be little value for international development charities. Additionally, this workshop is back by popular demand, so will not be beneficial to those who attended the previous session.
Leading the session is Kemar Walford, Founder of KN Walford Consultancy Ltd. Kemar is a keen supporter of charities and his greatest passion is helping organisations to keep doing their great work.
Kemar has over ten years’ experience in fundraising and the Voluntary Sector and during this time, he spent the vast majority of it working for the UK’s biggest funder (the Big Lottery Fund). Whilst there, he sharpened his skills in assessment, grant management, programme development and spent the last 2 years supporting charities to secure over £1.5m in funding. However, in October 2016, he decided to offer his unique skills, insight and experiences to the wider voluntary sector in a bid to help those struggling to secure funding from these types of funders.
