About Stars Foundation

Stars Foundation invests in organizations and ideas that transform the lives of disadvantaged children and their communities globally. Founded in 2001 by Al-Dabbagh Group and based in London, Stars is an independent charity committed to reaching 20 million people by 2020.

By combining our Founding Donor’s entrepreneurial heritage with our longstanding dedication to locally-led solutions, Stars harnesses the insight, assets and ambition of local civil society organizations and private sector companies, enabling them to achieve social change.

What we did for them

Stars Foundation contacted IFC to conduct a mapping study of potential co-funders for their Impact Awards in the Latin American region. The mapping study included governmental institutions, corporations and INPOs in the region. To identify these prospects we conducted extensive research, screened the best prospects, and conducted initial conversations to later make official introductions. We represented Stars Foundation during these talks and advice Stars Foundation Development Director on best ways to carry on with future negotiations leading not only to potential regional partnerships but also partnerships at a global level.

Stars Foundation’s efforts to understand and engage with potential co-funders in Latin America were significantly advanced through Karina Sandoval’s excellent work. Karina brought extensive networks, robust research and represented Stars very effectively through first contacts with stakeholders in the region. We would not hesitate to commission her again and indeed look forward to doing so.
