About Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust

Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust (HMWT) works to protect wildlife. The charity manages an area spanning 1,900 acres, from beautiful wetlands and woodlands to rare patches of heath and orchard. HMWT is one of 47 Trusts across the UK; one of the biggest voluntary organisation in the country dedicated to protecting the full range of UK species and habitats for the future, with more than 750,000 members and 200,000 acres of wild spaces in their care.

What we did for them

HMWT was preparing to combine office space with Groundwork Herts to create a new centre in Hertfordshire. IFC worked with them to produce a feasibility study for the projected capital appeal.

We developed an insider’s knowledge of the organisations and of the project, drafting a ‘case for support’, then researching the key sources of funds necessary to complete the appeal successfully.

We then wrote a strategy and clear action plan, scheduled and costed. Now we await the outcome of various planning matters before the appeal is launched into its ‘silent’ phase before it is made public (the ‘public phase’) and post-appeal ‘stewardship’ phase.
