IFC is delighted to announce the creation of IFC GCC the newest addition to the IFC international family, which will be based in the UAE and will cover the Middle East region. The GCC – the Gulf Corporation Council -is made up of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.
IFC GCC will offer international organisations the opportunity to access fundraising services in the Middle East, which has been described as a very generous region.
Heading up IFC GCC is its director, Abdulla Al Nuaimi, a fundraiser, entrepreneur, consultant and philanthropist. He has worked as a senior director for many INGOs and led fundraising activities for well-known charities such as Sightsavers, as the Director General for the Middle East, the World-Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) – UAE, as Fundraising and Marketing Director and for the Prevention of Blindness Union as Chief Operations Officer. He also helped organise donor forums where he pitched sovereign proposals for countries and intergovernmental institutions. Since the start of his journey, he has personally secured over US$86million.
He holds degrees in Law and Literature, an executive Master in Development Studies and Master of Law (LLM) in Dispute Resolution from the University of Law in the UK. Abdulla is currently involved in a few entrepreneurial ventures and consults organisations and individuals about fundraising and how to use his methods to raise more money.
