The next First Friday fundraising advice session in London will focus on how to run an effective capital campaign: a guide for small charities. This free session will take place on Friday 9 June 2017 from 13:30 to 16:30.
Capital Campaigns are an effective way to raise large amounts of funds for a specific need. Typically, this will be for acquiring land, buildings, equipment, or repairs. The session will cover:
- Whether your capital appeal is feasible for your charity.
- Top tips for developing a compelling case for support.
- The major donor approach.
- Engaging your Trustees.
- The benefits of an Appeal Committee.
- The legacy of a good capital appeal.
Leading the session will be Sarah Gray, Senior Consultant at IFC, who is responsible for the planning and implementation of a wide range of fundraising appeals for clients across the not-for-profit sector. Most recently, she worked as a Consultant Appeal Director for the National Army Museum in Chelsea overseeing the completion of their £23.75 million capital campaign. She has also advised charities on a range of smaller capital campaigns including an equipment appeal for £350k for a North London College and a capital fundraising programme for £100k for the launch of a Community Enterprise Centre near Swindon.
The session will take place at BT, 81 Newgate Street, London, EC1A 7AJ.
