Battle of the Fundraising Giants

It’s going to be the battle of the fundraising giants next week at the Fundraising Convention as IFC Chair, John Baguley takes on IFC CEO Bill King in what could be the biggest battle of their careers so far…

At 12pm on Monday 3 July, direct from the Fundraising Convention, John Baguley will be running his session: New frontiers in fundraising: The next big thingsEver wanted to know the next big thing before it happened? In his session John Baguley treks to the frontiers of fundraising here and overseas to see what is approaching and where it is being tested. This is a panel session with some of those trying out new ideas.   The session will look at contactless fundraising, interactive posters, approaching family offices, block-chain based disruption, the Social Stock Exchange and whatever is around the corner at Convention time.

But wait! At exactly the same time, Bill King will be speaking at his session: If you don’t askMaking time to find and get to know major donors is vitally important, but it’s wasted effort if you never actually ask them for money. This session will draw on the experience and expertise of the panel as they give their top tips for success. It will use real-life examples, to address questions every Major Donor fundraising should know, such as: How do you know a prospect is ready to be asked? How and where should you make the ask? How much should you be asking for?  And, crucially, who should be doing asking – the fundraiser or someone else?

So who is going to win? Who will attract that fundraising audience and who will be left standing? Whose session will you

choose? Let us know.
