Our vision, mission and values
Vision
Our vision is the establishment, on a global scale, of effective social organisations who have the leadership, management skills, fundraising flair and expertise to effectively and efficiently fulfill their humanitarian goals.
Mission
IFC’s global mission is to enable that vision by providing social organisations worldwide and appropriate government or commercial agents, with a first class professional service in management and fundraising consultancy.
Our country by country mission is to deliver a superb service to our clients.
Values
We believe our values, ethics and diversity are strategic assets that enhance our ability to deliver a comprehensive customer focused service.
We subscribe to the highest professional codes of conduct.
We believe in empowering our National Directors, staff and associates to decide on their service delivery, set targets and take risks to realise their full potential and to deliver their best to clients.
We believe our diversity is a key strategic asset.
We respect our clients, listening to them and delivering an honest and reliable service to help them succeed in their goals. We do not promise what we cannot deliver.
First Fridays
First Fridays are sessions where we offer advice to charities – free. Our consultants are on hand to talk about particular issues, and suppliers sometimes give short presentations too.
These sessions take place in the afternoon on the first Friday of every month. In the UK, First Fridays take place in London. Details of the next session will be announced in 2018.
We also run First Fridays in:
Italy – Avanzi, Via Ampère, 61/A, Milan – contact Francesca Mineo
Netherlands – Amsterdam – Helen Maynard-Hill visit the website for more details.

Top Table
If you head up a fundraising team at one of the UK’s national charities then you are eligible to join our Top Table free fundraising business breakfasts. These take place in the Gherkin every second month from 8.30 – 10.30 and there are just two things on the agenda. Firstly what keeps you awake at night, and secondly what makes want to get up in the morning. That is issues and trends in fundraising.
Breakfast is free and the views are awesome.
Kindly contact Bill King at bill.king@groupifc.com if you would like to be on the mailing list.
Wikifund
Set up by IFC Wikifund is created to provide one source portal of ALL information to do with Fundraising for charities, not for profit organisations and social enterprises. It is written by fundraisers for fundraisers.
Codes of practice
We follow the codes of conduct and good practice set up by the Institute of Fundraising UK, EUConsult, the Association of Fundraising Consultants (AFC), the Association of Chief Executives (ACEVO), Association of Professional Fundraisers (APF) and are registered as a supplier by the Fundraising Regulator. And of course, we follow the law relating to fundraising within the Charities Acts.

We only carry out fundraising consultancy for organisations whose goals we wholeheartedly support. And we never do any kind of fundraising that would cause supporters or the public to think less of our clients.
While we don’t guarantee to reach certain income targets, we can run a feasibility study to see how much income an appeal is likely to generate. We don’t handle any cash, cheques or other forms of donation. All donations go directly to the client.
We only employ trained consultants who have extensive and relevant fundraising experience.
Our fees
We’re not able to offer free consultancy to any organisation, but our fees are always fair and reasonable. We can charge based on individual projects, or on a monthly retainer. We can also quote a daily or monthly rate, based on the length of the contract. We don’t work on commission.
We may charge expenses, at cost, for travel, food and accommodation.
We invoice monthly, or once a project is completed. Payment is due within 30 days from the date of invoice.
We are registered for VAT, and all invoices for work in the UK include VAT at the current rate. Our VAT number is 804 7738 18.
Explore our learning resources
We offer a free fundraising ‘how to’ resource at wikifund.info. This wiki covers issues that are important to all non-profit organisations, from fundraising techniques to governance and database management. It also explores important topics such as the ethics of fundraising.
We also offer a large bookstore, with a catalogue of books that’s easy to search. The store is linked to Amazon, which means you can buy the books online.
Become part of IFC
We’re keen to expand our network. We’re particularly interested in opening IFC offices in France, Germany, Spain, Australia, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, China and Japan. So if you’re a fundraising expert working in one of these countries, we’d love to hear from you.
We need people who can deliver an extremely high standard of consultancy, and offer advice that’s right for their country. This is essential in maintaining our global reputation.
Naturally, we provide guidance and support to everyone in our network. But we don’t train fundraisers – you’ll need to come to us with deep professional knowledge.
You’ll also need to be entrepreneurial. Starting and building an IFC office usually means taking on a financial risk, and putting in some of your own money. But you’ll also benefit from being part of a well-respected international network.
If you’re interested in becoming part of IFC, please email a CV and supporting letter to John Baguley
