July’s First Friday: London

paperIFC UK’s next First Friday fundraisers advice session in London on 1st July is all about hitting the headlines. The aim is to make you think again about how you tell the story of your organisation and make sure it is heard by the right people at the right time.

This workshop will cover:

  • What charity leaders and fundraisers should do to make sure they are in the news for all the right reasons.
  • How to tell your story and make sure your stories at the very heart of your work are noteworthy and noticed.
  • Valuable tools and techniques to make sure your story is heard by the right people.

The session will be run by Norma Johnston, who has worked in UK and international charities and the UN for 20 years in leadership and communications roles. Her experience ranges from UN field work in Haiti and developing behavioural change campaigns in West Africa through to campaigning for the rights of people with disabilities in the UK.

Norma specialises in helping organisations make the news with stories of their challenges and triumphs as well as preparing organisations to answer criticism that may be well-founded or unfair.

This workshop is free, however to ensure attendance we have had to introduce a £30 booking deposit. This will be returned to you after you have attended the event.

July’s First Friday will take place on Friday 1 July from 2pm-5pm at Law Works, National Pro Bono Centre, 48 Chancery Lane, WC2A 1JF.
