IFC Chair and founder John Baguley set up IFC with the belief that an effective civil society was key to a better future, and it is exciting to see how his mission to change the world, one client at a time, is spreading across the globe. Today, IFC has offices in 13 countries across five continents, and is working with dozens of clients, helping them improve their fundraising, their communications and their management, so they can better produce the change they want to see; locally, nationally and internationally.
Last week, eight of IFC’s team from around the world met in Berlin, to discuss our work, the different challenges we and our clients face, and how we can improve our services. We were especially pleased that two of IFC’s newest Directors were present, with Maya Gabitova from Kyrgyzstan and Jim De from India flying in to join representatives from the UK, Netherlands, Italy and Peru.
Over the course of two days, lively discussion covered topics ranging from maintaining ethical standards across multiple territories, how to better engage with clients and working with Associates, to ensure we can always offer the best experts for any situation. We also discussed how we are building our online presence through social media, and our latest venture, Fundraising TV, which will broadcast every Wednesday.
The annual meetings have become an important and much appreciated fixture in the calendar, helping us to discuss the issues we all face and benefit from each other’s experience and knowledge. It means than when we talk with our own clients, we are bringing not just our own expertise to bear, but best practice from around the world.
Our thanks to Impact Hub Berlin for hosting, and to the wonderful Astrid for her guided walking tour of Berlin, ending with traditional German food – and beer, of course.
Look forward to seeing everyone in Madrid next year!
